I am lucky enough to be 30 and already have found my passion. During the week I get to stay home with my sassy two year old, Presley. She is the perfect little model and my hubby Aj and Is favorite tiny human.
I am so lucky that my hobby turned into my job. To say I’m blessed is an understatement – I never had any intentions of it turning into what it is but I am forever grateful and thankful. So many of my clients have turned into friends and that is a blessing all in it’s own.
Photography for me has become an obsession. I crave the emotional moments; a father seeing his daughter in her wedding gown for the first time, the sparkle in the eyes of the bride and groom as they say their vows to each other, the passion of the first kiss as Husband and Wife, the moments of tears and laughter as a Maid of Honor gives an emotional speech about her best friend marrying the man of her dreams. I crave those moments. I love them – they are what makes my job so dang exciting!
Not only do I love shooting weddings – but I adore the engagement shoots. It’s my chance to get to know the bride and groom on a whole other level. I get to watch them interact and giggle with each other, sneaking a kiss when I’m adjusting settings on my camera & then to have the consult and listen to them both excitedly tell me all of the details of their day. I love it – I love hearing every single detail of their day and then getting to be the person who gets to capture it all come to life. It’s a privilege that I am so thankful for.
I love shooting weddings and engagements – but I have a soft spot for the soon to be graduate with the new sense of confidence knowing they are finally a high school senior. And the glow of the mommy to be who is patiently awaiting the arrival of their new bundle of joy… and the look of awe on parents faces as I take pictures of their 10 day old newborn who’s only concern is eating and sleeping peacefully. And lastly nothing beats capturing the giggles and laughs of a family getting their yearly family photo done. It doesn’t matter what it is – I truly love knowing that I am capturing a moment that they can look back on in 10 years and remember.
I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for my amazingly supportive husband who has been my “test model” more times than I can count – who sits still as I’m pointing my flash directly in his face (on accident of course) as I try to get the shot I have had stuck in my head for days. Who has supported me since the beginning. Who calms me down when I’m stressing myself out and who always knows just what to say to bring me back to reality and reminds me why I do what I do. I’m one lucky lady.
Also, for my family and friends who have spread the word and helped my business grow – especially to my sister who has been my go to for so many things. Haley – I truly would not have made it as far as I am if it weren’t for your patience, your brutal honesty, and all of your help with everything. I cannot thank you enough.
